Know if your leaders are ready for AI
An honest read of your leadership, your talent processes and your performance system. Not your data pipelines.
The assessmentLeadership for the AI era
Z.Advisors helps CEOs, CHROs and boards get their leaders ready for AI. It starts with an honest read of where your leadership stands, then builds only what that read says you need. Built on Rewired Leadership, the book by Mark Zides.
An honest read of your leadership, your talent processes and your performance system. Not your data pipelines.
The assessmentRewired Leadership programs and coaching for leaders whose job is changing while they do it.
Leadership developmentPerformance management, talent processes and structure, rebuilt for how AI is changing the work.
Talent and performanceEvery engagement is led by someone who has held the role, carried the number, and shipped the change themselves.
How we workHow we work
Operator-led engagements, delivered at the pace your business runs.
The difference
How we work
Uncover, develop, coach, design, build. The assessment says which of the rest you need, so nobody sells you all five.
See the full pathThe framework
From the back of the book. When any one part is weak, leadership friction goes up. When all five line up, the organization moves faster with fewer escalations. Pick one to see what it looks like.
Rewired leaders remove ambiguity before they demand performance. Intent, priorities and outcomes are understood without repeated explanation or escalation, so people act without waiting for permission.
Instead of relying on hierarchy and approvals, rewired leaders design decision rights on purpose. Ownership is explicit, guardrails replace permissions, and escalation becomes the exception.
AI handles execution, analysis and coordination. People handle ambiguity, ethics, trade-offs and meaning. Leadership fails when judgment is hoarded at the top or handed to machines.
Trust is not a personality trait. It is a designed system, where competence earns freedom, mistakes produce learning, and truth travels faster than fear.
Failure is treated as feedback. Instead of blaming individuals, leaders upgrade the guardrails, the decision rights and the workflows, so the system improves without heroics.
Why leaders first
Nearly every leader expects AI to change their industry.
Far fewer believe their own leadership team is ready to lead it.
That is the gap every step of the path is built to close.
Who we serve
Founder-led and growth-stage companies, and the boards and sponsors behind them. If the decision sits with you, we work with you directly.
The founder
Z.Advisors is deliberately senior and deliberately small. Engagements are led by operators who have carried the number and shipped the change, supported by a bench of specialists brought in for the specific problem, never a junior team learning on your account.
The founder
Founder of Z.Advisors and author of Rewired Leadership. More than 35 years building and leading companies at the intersection of HR, talent, leadership and AI.
He founded CoreAxis, a learning and talent firm that partnered with organizations including Amazon, Bank of America, Thermo Fisher Scientific and Netflix, and led it through its acquisition in 2022. He then ran Luminoso, an AI company that came out of the MIT Media Lab, as CEO. Today he leads Z.Advisors engagements personally.
Leadership isn't about knowing more. It's about unlearning faster.

Before you inquire
Anything not covered here, ask directly. We answer scope and pricing without a discovery gate.
Founder-led and growth-stage companies where the decision sits with a CEO, a CHRO or a sponsor, and PE operators working across a portfolio. The common thread is a leader accountable for both the number and the organization, not one or the other.
Fixed scope and fixed fee, sized to the problem rather than billed by the hour. Most start with the AI readiness assessment, then move into whichever of development, coaching, design or build the readout points to.
No. We build with them. The point of an operator-led engagement is that your team owns the system by the time we step out. Where it helps, we stay on as an advisory layer while execution runs in-house.
Operating changes land first: where decisions stall, which leadership habits to change, where the people systems work against you. Business impact follows the cycle length in your business. Anyone promising a number on a fixed date is guessing.
You do. Frameworks, playbooks, learning materials, documentation and everything built during the engagement. It is built in your systems from the first week, so there is nothing to hand back.
